    M. O. Howard

    A typewritten record of the speech, titled a "Historical Address," that was delivered by M. O. Howard at the Blendon District Fair Ground (Blendon Township, OH) on July 4th, 1876 to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the United States of America. The address is largely concerned with establishing a history of Blendon Township and of Otterbein University. The Cornell family is implicated in this history as the speech mentions a "John Bishop, of Conn." who settled in the township "soon after the war of 1812" and the Cornell's house, or "the farm now owned by Mr. John Cornell, just south of town."
