In this document Thomas Belden and his wife Margaret of Hartford County, Connecticut, grant power of attorney to Hector T. Phelps and enable him "to ask, demand, sue for, recover, and receive of and from all persons whomsoever in the state of Ohio, all notes, mortgages, demands, accords and monies which may be due and owing to us in the state of Ohio." This handwritten copy of a legal document was recorded in Book No. 4-152, dated February 27th 1823.

Published by Brother D. Longworth at the Shakespeare Gallery, New York. Anno Lucis 5801 (i.e., 1801). The hand-penned notation on the blank front cover of the manuscript declares ownership, stating "Caleb Bishop his book January 1805."
