The Otterbein Cardinals travel to Ada, Ohio to face the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern. The film is in Black and White, with Otterbein wearing white uniforms and helmets while ONU is wearing dark jerseys with dark helmets. During the 1976 season the Otterbein coaching staff had the game films divided into Defense and Offense for instructional and evaluation purposes, instead of first and second halves. However, this game was divided in the traditional format, the first film is the first half, while the second half is on the second reel.
OHIO NORTHERN University
Location: Ada, Ohio
Colors – Burnt Orange, Black and White
Conference: NAIA, Independent (Currently a member of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). ONU originally joined the OAC in 1916 but left after the 1948-49 academic year. They became a member of the NAIA as an independent. In 1973 they returned to the NCAA and the OAC.)
Coach: Arden “Stretch” Roberson, 5-4 (1960-69, 10-years: 52-39, .571)
Nickname – Polar Bear, “Klondike.” The original mascot was a goat, but in 1923 the student body chose to replace the goat with the polar bear, symbolizing size, strength and white color for purity.
University Background – The university was founded in 1871 as Northwestern Ohio Normal School, changed to the Ohio Normal University in 1885, and finally adopting its current title, Ohio Northern University in 1903. It’s been affiliated with the Methodist Church since 1899, and the United Methodist Church since its merger with the Evangelical United Brethren Church in 1968.
OTTERBEIN College
Location: Westerville, Ohio
Colors: Tan and Cardinal
Conference: Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC)
Coach: Larry Lintner, 3-5-1 (1966-69. Four years: 10-25-1, .278)
Nickname: Cardinals, the mascot is “Cardy.” Initially, as with most other universities, the athletic teams were referred to by their colors. In Otterbein’s case it was either the Tans or the Cardinals. When the State of Ohio officially adopted the cardinal as the state bird the term Cardinals started catching on. It wasn’t until after WWII that the nickname Cardinals became prevalent through the efforts of coach and athletic director Robert “Moe” Agler. However, there has been a long battle between using the term Cardinals or changing the nickname “Otters,” which is not used by any institution in the NCAA. Both nicknames are used interchangeably.
University Background: Otterbein University was founded in 1847 by the Church of the United Brethren in Christ and named for United Brethren founder the Rev. Philip William Otterbein. After the merger of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church, in 1968, Otterbein has been associated with the United Methodist Church. It was Otterbein University from 1847 to 1917, when it changed to Otterbein College. In 2010, with the increase in courses and graduate degrees it reverted to its original name, Otterbein University.

Otterbein travels to Ohio Northern in quest of its third win in four starts. . .
An OAC team with a fancy passing duo is the Norm Lukey-to-Pete Parker combination at Otterbein. Both of these Canadian juniors already hold several school aerial marks.
Lukey is right behind Bill Christen (Kenyon) in the conference statistics. He is 48 of 83 for 703 yards and six touchdowns. Parker, who caught 12 for 294 yards and three touchdowns this fall. His four receptions for 127 yards against Denison last week enabled him to set a new school record in reception yards.
