Description

Funded by the Otterbein "Faculty Collaborative International Enrichment Grant," the "Science, Culture, and Modernity in Chengdu China" project comprises three faculty and one faculty librarian. One of the project's objectives is to develop internship and student research experiences for Zoo and Conservation Science students at the world's premier Panda Research venue. The team visited Chengdu, including the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, from June 4th 4 – June 18th, 2014. The Otterbein, Southwest Jiaotong University library exchange program fostered the relationship with the panda base. From the left: Ning Li (Otterbein visiting librarian from Southwest Jiaotong University library in 2012), Anna Young (Director of the Zoo and Conservation Science program at Otterbein), Jane Wu (faculty librarian at Otterbein), Sarah Bouchard (Biology professor at Otterbein), Paul Eisenstein (Dean of the School of Arts and Science at Otterbein).
