Materials/Description of item
This bound volume assembles legal and financial documents surrounding the ownership of 201 S. State Street, Westerville, Ohio. (Recorded as a property on Lot Number One (1) in GLENWOOD ADDITION of Westerville.) The documents within date from c. 1916 to c. 1949 as the property passes through several hands, including:
- Purchased and owned by Lillie M. and William E. Johnson, husband and wife, circa 1920.
- Later owned by William E. Johnson, dower to the deceased Lillie M. Johnson (d. 1927), and his later wife May Stanley Johnson.
- Purchased by Nellie and J. Earl Anderson, wife and husband, circa 1935.
- Purchased by Merriss Cornell and Carol K. Cornell circa 1949.
The documents associated with the Cornell’s purchase and ownership of the property include two Mortgage Deeds, two Mortgage Notes, a Closing Statement, a Warranty Deed, a Loan Closing Statement, and a Purchase Sale and Exchange Contract. There are also various Abstract of Title and Continuation of Abstract of Title.
