Volume I of Henry Howe's Historical Collections of Ohio in Two Volumes, An Encyclopedia of the State. The front endpapers include a penned notation indicating the book was owned by Otto B. Cornell ("O. B. Cornell, M.D., Westerville, O.") and a purple stamp indicating the book is "Compliments of WM. Curtis Whitney, Ohio House of Rep's." Henry Howe wrote a message beneath his author portraits in the frontmatter, stating, "Time changes us all and happy that change when justice, truth and love which can know no change grow in beauty with the passing years. Columbus, O., 1888."
