If ever there is a place that can force one to put everything into perspective, it’s the High Desert. It can be found in several places throughout the Western United States. For the most part, it is inhabited by few civilians. Those who know it best serve in our military. The airspace above most of this endless landscape is restricted– only military aircraft are allowed to operate within it. There’s a lot of secrecy out here. This contributes to the silence. The horizon is unlimited, the sky beyond huge. The desert will tell you more than you ever want to know about yourself. It’s a place where you can hear your soul speak. As I reflect back on my existence, most of my ‘life’ questions found answers out in places like this. It is a zone like no other... where you can connect with the Spirit of everything. Perhaps this landscape paints the perfect backdrop for one to clearly see the answers. Those answers are the secret to wellness.
