First reel is #18, beginning at 2:05 band, cheerleaders and crowd shots interspersed with game action. Second reel is #8, at 2:04 the game ends with view of scoreboard, teams shake hands and leave field and crowd leaves stadium.
Hiram’s coach, Bill Hollinger (April 27, 1921 – April 9, 2011) earned his BA degree from Hiram in 1943 was student president, and captained the football and basketball teams. In WWII, as an Army lieutenant, he won a bronze star for taking over a ravaged company and leading it through heavy fire to seize an enemy position. In 1956, after seven years of teaching and coaching at Ripon College in Wisconsin, he returned to his alma mater as athletic director and head of the department of physical education for 33 years. During his tenure he coached football, men’s basketball, track and field and baseball for the Terriers. Hiram named its athletic hall of fame and basketball court in his honor.
