"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn."

The Rockies are stunning! When in their presence, you can’t help but feel a little intimidated. I am looking at the results of three major mountain building episodes that took place 170 to 40 million years ago. They are evidence of the violent plate tectonic activity that took place on this planet… and it continues to this day. The evidence of this force is impressive. I am standing on a rock outcropping that is some 350 million years old. The oldest rocks that make up these mountains date to 1.7 billion years old. In geologic terms, the Rockies are still young... they are very much alive and active. Enormous slabs that were once horizontal are now nearly vertical. Imagine the kind of energy and time it took to accomplish that movement. The presence of Spirit in this place is extraordinary. Being connected to the Spirit of the earth, trees and water brings balance and harmony within your soul. It is that energy that puts your mind in the proper place... a place of inner peace.
